Horse riders have teamed up with a local farmer and Tees Million to revamp a popular off-road route.
The permissive bridleway, which runs parallel to Grewgrass Lane in New Marske, linking to Errington Woods, has been transformed thanks to William Wardman of Thrushwood Farm and a grant from Tees Million.
Extensive drainage and resurfacing works took place following a successful funding bid by Saltburn and District Bridleways Group which secured a £2,500 contribution towards the project.
Gary Hatton, access officer for Saltburn and District Bridleways Group said: “Hundreds of riders use this track on a regular basis, but over the years it had become extremely muddy and could get quite deep in places so it was due a revamp.
“We’ve already had fantastic feedback from local horse riders, and it benefits walkers and cyclists in the area too.
“We just want to say a huge thank you to Mr Wardman and Tees Million for all their support in making this work possible.”
